RECLAIM THE CITY – DEMONSTRATION IN POZNAN
On Saturday, 9th May, at around 3 p.m. a demonstration organized by Rozbrat Collective took place, it started in front of the Opera House. Around 1,000-1,500 took part in it. The participants of the demonstration were also people from different organizations and groups such as Anarchist Federation, members of different groups of protests from Poznan neighborhoods, including those protesting against the F-16 airport, anti-eviction organizations, alternative theaters' members, trade unionists from different unions, representatives of the Berlin autonomous communities, squatters from different cities in Poland and abroad and loads of other supporters of Rozbrat from Poznan, Poland and abroad.

Solidarity from Budapest
Today (2009.04.06) a small group protested in front of the Polish Embassy in Budapest, showing the letters „Save Rozbrat” in a hopefully not so bad Polish. They gave a letter addressed to the ambassador and the city council of Poznan, which was received by the housekeeper and her small child. Rozbrat is one of the oldest squats in Europe and under threat of eviction these days because of an imminent auction. The squat called for an international day of action for May 6th.

The Struggle Continues - Solidarity with Rozbrat! Action in Reykjavik
Today, the free-shop on Vatnsstígur 4. was opened again. The shop, which operates in the way that people can both bring and take things completely without money, was opened for the first time, Saturday April 11th but was closed four days later when the police destroyed the upper part of the building and carried people out in a memorable way (read about that by clicking here). Today, the shop was filled with things immediately, since there is plenty enough of surplus that come from the disgusting society of over-consumption that we live in. By-walkers as well as squatters and squatting supporters checked out the free-shop and used this unknown way of ,,shopping”.

Solidarity with Rozbrat in Greece
The imputation from the state in co-operation with the media about autonomous spaces and squats continues all around Europe. The domestic chapter with the threatency of repression towards squats was somehow publicized with multi-shaped actions and more will continue if needed. A bit more far, in Poland, 2 of the most known squats are seriously threatened with eviction the last few months. Rozbrat in Poznan and Elba in Warsow are those that are targeted by the polish authorities. The social activity of the squats bothers for once again, and the actual spaces many times become an obstacle for the constructive gentrification of the modern capitalistic development model with all its consequences. For the 9th of May, in Poznan, a solidarity demonstration with Rozbrat Squat (that has almost 15 years of life) is planned as also today (6/5) is the day for action in solidarity with Rozbrat. Considering the above mentioned, earlier today a bit before the office of General Consulate of Poland in the center of Thessaloniki opened for the public, a group of comrades "visited" the office in their own way. Demonstration in defence of Rozbrat
ROZBRAT STAYS - LET'S RECLAIM THE CITY", on 9 May there will be a demonstration in defence of Rozbrat taking place. We invite all of you to take part in it. We start at 3 p.m. In front of the Opera house, Fredry Street. In the evening there will be a party at Rozbrat.We will try to provide a sleeping place for everyone, you can also take tents with you.When the dark clouds over Rozbrat squat have become a real threat we decided to organize a first (but probably not the last) demonstration in defence of our space. As some of you may already know, things around Rozbrat's future started happening - the bank, the court, the auction. We will not wait passively, it's high time to show our presence in the city, in its streets.

LIBERATION IDEAS DEBATE SOCIETYHaving a place allows us to widen our activity. Thanks to it, we create fundamental elements of society's functioning, but it is different form the "official" world one. Our idea is to create a liberated thought and building a conscious society. This aim is executed through thousands of discussions in small and big groups, sometimes behind the façade of the Liberation Ideas Debate Society (LIDS). Within the confines of the LIDS, we invite guests with wider knowledge about particular issues. We also organize different workshops that teach both communal creating and concrete skills. But what is most important, at Rozbrat you can learn to think pragmatically.
The ABC group of Poznan has been existing continuously since 1996. In this period, according to the acquired experience, forms and range of our activity were changing.Since several years our work has been focusing on practical support for activists of the anarchist movement and other groups cooperating with it. As a result of long-term observations we concluded that one of the biggest problems in the movement is lack of financial and legal backup. We were fed up with noticing different groups, one by one, being trapped in judicial scrambles after organizing even a small protest. Next activists, instead of doing their work, were forced to pay fines and if they didn't the state could blackmailed them (in Crakow, for example, well known local anarchist was arrested before every inconvenient for the state protest under the pretext of unpaid fines from the past). This is useful for the authorities to control the movement by endless court proceedings.
It takes place every last Friday of a month. People gather in the very center of Poznan, where they start their drive through the streets of the city from. They shout slogans such as: ROWER POWER (Bike power)! and POZNAN - A CITY FOR BIKES!
Food not bombs is a world-wide initiative of handing out free vegetarian meals to the unprivileged. The first action was organized in 1980 by American activists protesting against nuclear armaments. Besides from the practical side of the initiative, it has a symbolic meaning. It pays attention to the problem of famine and malnutrition, that takes place everywhere in the world, even in the richest countries. The problem of famine is not caused by the lack of food in the world, but it is caused by the politics of rich countries, that prefer huge money expenditure spent on arming. Meanwhile, the improvement of the existence situation of the poorest is funded fewer and fewer. Statistically, the sum of money spent a week for arming is equal to the cost of feeding the starving people all over the world for a year. In the face of outbreak of the war in Iraq, our action's aim is to pay attention to the problem of poorness and the disability to satisfy all the living needs of part of our society and people all over the world.
